Blogging Assesment 2

Blogs and podcasts are very similar, they have many similarities and the only main difference is that a blog is a written and a podcast is an audio version. a podcast is just a diary where you can say what you want and record it using a microphone and people can download the podcast and listen to it on their own computer anytime. podcasts and blogs are always there and can be kept here porever unless the publisher decides to remove it or for and legal reason is removed! even though tehy seem to be very alike tehy tend to be appeal in different ways to others. the main advantages of a podcast is that you can hear there tone of voice which can make you understand more about what they are saying and they are easier for someone on the go to listen to. the main advantages to blogs in another yhand is that you can read over what you have just read at any moment without hassle and is easyier to rean in a noisy place and also many people would rather read context than listen to an audio file.

one prime example of a blog is the hollywoodgossip.com which is a worldwide blog about celebrities, it is updated regularly and always has the gossip but the site is slated alot as everything is always told! bluging and podcasting has become very popular and are becoming more popular than some magazine as they are updated more regularly and are easier to access.

Blogging assesment

Blogs are online journals that are updated frequently, sometimes even daily. Each post is usually quite short, perhaps just a few sentences to a few pages as much as you like and readers can often respond to an entry online. Blogging is a very easy way to communicate and is now very popular way of communication, most people who write blogs are commonly called bloggers, many people follow blogs that they have enjoyed reading to they can read other blogs publishes by the same writer. Blogs can be used for social networking, news sites and also information streaming and discussion forums depending on what the blogger prefers. News sites are usually more up to date with the news as they can be updated at any time! Information streaming is very handy and it’s easy to find quick information and interesting facts. Social networking sites are used to socialise, its easy to find someone with the same interest by reading there blogs, you can find people from all over the world and make new friends. Discussion forums are mostly used to discuss opinions and to state thoughts you have on things and see what other people think. Blogging is now a very popular hobby to many people, blogging can be used on many sites including Bebo, Twitter, My space etc. These socialising networks are mostly used for socialising blogs or information streaming. These sites have become very popular to blogging s it can be more personalised and its easier to use if you already have one of these sites! The origin of blogging is often argued about what blogging actually is but in the 90s internet forum software such as web ex created running conversations with topical connections between messages and this is how blogging became popular, the modern blog came from the online diary where people wrote about there personal lives and blogging came on from there.

Shona White

Shona White’s musical journey has taken her from singing in the church choir through fife children’s theatre to appearing in some of London west end biggest hit shows, Shona started off singing in the choir at the age of 10 not realising the big talent she had, until the age of 12 She never realised how much she enjoyed singing, acting and dancing after realising this she went on to going to Edinburgh acting school 3 times a week after school at the age of 17 Shona moved to London in then hope of getting in to The Royal Academy of Music, and succeeded!

When asked who her inspirations were Shona replied “Emm…Barbara Streisand inspired me years ago and also Shirley Bassey, women with big voices really and also just like people I have worked with in musicals!” she also admitted in the interview she was a big fan of watching musicals on T.V. including the Wizard of Oz, My Fair Lady and also Annie!

Shona has admitted that up until recently Mamma Mia was her favourite production “Emm…okay that’s a hard question there’s probably two, it used to be Mamma Mia as it was really amazing, amazing fun and I got to play the lead for the last 2 months of my contract, now the films out and that’s been a big success I actually got invited to go see a special preview as I was involved in the west end show so that was amazing so until I did Wicked, Mamma Mia was my Favourite but emm…wicked is the most amazing role for a female actress I played Elpha the green witch who gets to fly and gets to play the most amazing high belted songs its just a thrill so yeh, playing Elpha in wicked I think was the most amazing I was the stand by so I apparently went on 42 times in 6 months so yes that was thrilling.

Shona laughed about her biggest achievement, “Winning a blue peter badge…no I’m just kidding but I actually did win one though I designed the inside of a book cover for an annual.” As well as her favourite production playing Elpha The Green witch in Wicked is Shonas biggest achievement so far in her career.

Shona met Take That a wee while back and told her wee story, “I had lunch with Take That one time at the Royal Variety Concert in 1994, I was in the choir backing them but some thing funny happened, in rehearsals they had laid on a big buffet but by the time we had finished rehearsing and got to the canteen river dance had eaten all the food so to make up for it they let us go in to the VIP section to eat lunch it was cool.” Shona goes out socially with people like Claire Sweeney who she has met during her career she admits to going out to clubs and has been sitting next to someone famous and not noticed! The biggest highlight of the interview with Shona was her story about not realising she was with a very famous man in a night club even though he had his very distinctive ponytail! - “I’ve actually been sitting next to someone and not noticed who they were cause they are just in the same night club you know, my brother killed me at some point cause I went out to a night club with Claire Sweeney and this really nice man, handsome clean cut shaving man. I was chatting away to him all night he left said nice to meet you and nice chatting to you and left and Claire Sweeney turned to me and said u do know that was David Seamen don’t you? Yes and my brother killed me for that, didn’t know it was him so I never got an autograph for my brother so he wasn’t happy! You just don’t realise you know, they are just like us just going out for a quite drink and so!”

Shona laughed about her ultimate goal she wants to achieve, “Oh… world domination… I’m only joking emm…I don’t know I have done so many amazing things already, I want to now get on to T.V. acting that’s where I’m at now I want to get on Taggart so I can say there’s been a murder! So something like that but my ultimate dream or goal would be to do big concerts like Barbara Streisand and Shirley Bassey do, to do Wembley or the o2 something like that you know that would be my dream to have a big orchestra and just little me in my evening dresses!

Lily Allen

Lily Allen has decided to bite her tongue and let her latest album do the talking, She released her second record in February then planned a large UK tour. She is keeping her self busy this year after a failed pregnancy and also failed marriage with Ed Simons from the known chemical brothers. Unlike most stars lily her past is colourful but is in control of her future, the star has being doing well for herself besides having an all gone wrong last year. The stars new record will prove many points, the album is more mature from her first and even features two love songs Chinese and who’d have known, Chinese being about and for her mother, love songs are not something we are used to hearing from Lilly which is a big surprise of the album.

When asked “Why are you the one the media loves to hate, or to trash all the time? Because every time there is a big story in the papers, it’s about you being a) topless, b) drunk or c) meeting some mysterious man, as they call it.”

Lily replied, “I don’t know. Maybe because I’m a woman and I have a point of view and people aren’t used to that. I think it’s much easier you know, with anything to be critical, you know, than it is to be positive about something. And I think if it’s your job to, you know… Those people that write for gossip magazines must be very depressed about their jobs, because it must be so boring having to lie about things the whole time, which is basically… you know, they get up in the morning, they go to work, photographer’s agency sends them a hundred photos of different celebrities. They don’t know what the hell those celebrities are doing in those photos, because they don’t know… they don’t know that person, so they have to make it up. And I think when you’re making stuff up, it’s much easier to be negative, especially if you’re a depressed person, than it is to be positive about things, you know. I tend to think that those things are not so much about me, they are about the people that write them.”

Lily admits that the press sometimes get to her even though she knows they shouldn’t she quotes “Sometimes I can laugh about it, sometimes I get really upset about it, because it’s very thoughtless, a lot of the things that people write. And a lot of the times, you know, some people… if people write things in the terms of that’s their opinion then it’s legal to do so. If they write it as if it’s fact then it’s illegal, if they’re lying. The way that they word a lot of things is always, you know… it’s very… you know, they’re guessing, you know. So they’re writing as if… you know, they don’t actually know the facts. Which means that they can… it’s all very opinionated, you know. You know: “Lily must be feeling like this”, not “Lily is feeling like this”. Or… do you know what I mean? It’s very… But people don’t really necessarily notice that when they’re reading it, they can’t see exactly how things are phrased. And that’s what irritates me, ´cause I just go: “Grrrr…” So annoying how they can get away with it, because they’re phrasing things in a certain way.”

As we all know Lily made a huge statement to the fashion industry in her first music video by mixing a smart dress with a casual pair of trainers, “Say, how important is fashion for you?”

“Not very!” replied Lily laughing.

“Although you´ve become like a fashion idol over the last few years? Or is that just by accident really?”

“Yeah (yawns), it was not intentional. You know, I just wear whatever is clean in my wardrobe. (chuckles) So yeah, I’m not… I don’t think of myself like that. People always ask me in interviews, you know: “What’s your inspiration behind your style?” And I think, well, as soon as you start thinking about your style that much, you automatically become unstylish, so I tend not to think about it, I just wear what I feel comfortable in. And if I’m feeling particularly confident I’ll probably wear something that’s a bit more flattering. If I’m not then, you know, I’ll wear a potato sack like I am today (laughs).”

“Says the woman who has her own fashion line?”

“Yeah. Well, I did have it, it was a long time ago.”

Lily denied the rumour she was receiving an unlimited amount of free handbags from channel, she explains that she is invited to Chanel’s shows and is sometimes sent free gifts but denies being able to walk in to a Chanel shop and pointing out what she wants without paying for the items.
